2025 bakers’ competition in Burkina Faso

From 9 June to 5 July 2025, a bakers’ competition was held in the cities of Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. This event, organised for the first time, brought together more than 50 participants, all bakers who had previously attended at least one Lesaffre bread-making workshop over the past three years.

The competition took place in three stages. First, a pre-selection process on WhatsApp was used to select the best candidates. Then, two selection rounds were held, one in Bobo-Dioulasso and the other in Ouagadougou, to choose the two finalists from each city. Finally, the four finalists competed in the final to determine the winner.

The aim of this competition was to analyse the impact of the various bread-making workshops organised in Burkina Faso over the last three years.

At the end of the competition, the organisers were able to validate the bread-making skills of the participating bakers. The first prize, a motorbike, was won by one of the finalists, while several other prizes were awarded to the other participants.

This bakers’ competition was a real success, celebrating excellence and innovation in the field of baking in Burkina Faso. It highlighted the hard work and talent of Burkinabe bakers, while strengthening their ties with Lesaffre products.
